Compensation: Anticipated compensation for this position is a base of $105-120k plus 3-4% commission rate.*

Job Summary
The Client Partner – Higher Education is responsible for driving new business development and growing existing relationships within higher education accounts. This role focuses on identifying prospective clients, managing the full sales cycle, and closing deals to meet and exceed revenue targets, while also cultivating, nurturing, and expanding relationships with existing clients.
The ideal candidate brings a strong sales foundation, proven consultative selling skills, and the executive presence to engage senior leaders and key decision-makers. The Client Partner will play a critical role in expanding FranklinCovey's presence in the higher education market by aligning our solutions to the strategic needs and goals of each institution.
Essential Job Functions
- New Business Development: Identify and target higher education institutions through proactive lead generation strategies including networking, referrals, social media outreach, and market research.
- Business Growth: Identify and pursue opportunities to expand existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals to drive retention and revenue growth.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to foster trust and long-term partnership.
- Sales Process Management: Drive the full sales cycle from initial outreach through close, ensuring alignment with client needs, FranklinCovey's subscription and services guidelines, and revenue objectives.
- Needs Assessment & Solution Presentation: Diagnose client needs at a strategic level and present tailored FranklinCovey solutions through compelling proposals and presentations that address institution-specific challenges.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about higher education trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities to sharpen sales strategies and client engagement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams including marketing, product management, and client success, to ensure seamless client experiences and effective solution delivery.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate CRM records of sales activities, pipeline status, forecasts, and provide regular updates on account performance to internal stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
Plus – One or a combination of the areas below:
- 3+ years of Enterprise or Higher Ed sales experience including account management and new logo development
- 3+ years of experience in higher education in a leadership, enrollment, or administrative role
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and closing deals, ideally in a consultative or solution-based selling environment
- Experience in subscription-based models, SaaS, professional services, or learning and development sales
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision-makers
- Strong understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices, with a results-oriented mindset
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the executive presence and credibility to engage confidently in both in-person and virtual settings
- Highly proficient with sales technologies, digital platforms, and social media tools used for prospecting and outreach
- Familiarity with FranklinCovey content and solutions
