Job Summary
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales efforts, revenue generation, and market positioning for a Hilton/Marriott-branded hotel. This role demands a strategic focus on driving occupancy and revenue growth through innovative sales initiatives, building key partnerships, and optimizing pricing strategies. The Director will collaborate closely with property teams, revenue management, and corporate leadership to achieve ambitious sales targets and contribute to overall business success.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to boost occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR), and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR).
- Lead property-level sales teams in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including corporate accounts, group bookings, and leisure segments.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key clients, travel agencies, event planners, and local organizations to generate consistent demand.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and demand forecasts to refine pricing, promotions, and marketing tactics.
- Implement effective revenue management practices, including dynamic pricing and yield optimization, to maximize profitability.
Revenue Management & Performance Analysis
- Oversee forecasting, budgeting, and reporting related to sales and revenue streams.
- Track sales performance metrics and KPIs, providing insights and adjustments to meet or exceed goals.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to align sales strategies with property capabilities and financial objectives.
- Identify cost-effective sales channels and tools to enhance efficiency without compromising results.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Conduct regular training sessions on sales techniques, negotiation skills, and industry best practices.
- Motivate the team through performance incentives, goal-setting, and recognition programs to drive results.
Brand Alignment & Compliance
- Ensure all sales activities adhere to Hilton brand standards, guidelines, and ethical practices.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations while promoting the brand's values in all client interactions.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance guest experiences and loyalty through targeted sales efforts.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the hospitality industry, preferably with Hilton or Marriott brands.
- Demonstrated expertise in sales, revenue management, and business development, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in market analysis, CRM systems, and sales forecasting tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support sales initiatives and client engagements.
