Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for transactions including sales, returns, and exchanges
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with fresh inventory
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, organizing, and conducting stock counts
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support supervising staff in training new team members and maintaining store standards
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations is advantageous
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift merchandise, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking and merchandising
