Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels to ensure a hygienic environment for all animals
- Handle dogs and other pets with care, using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Assist veterinary technicians and assistants with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Provide pet care services including feeding, watering, grooming, and administering medications as directed
- Support pet sitting duties for animals in the facility or during client visits
- Perform heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or large animals like horses when necessary
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their animals’ well-being and answering questions professionally
Experience
- Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is highly preferred
- Experience working with dogs through training or dog handling is advantageous
- Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a strong plus, especially familiarity with animal restraint and medical procedures
- Knowledge of pet grooming, pet sitting, or pet care routines enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Experience with heavy lifting or physically demanding tasks related to animal care is beneficial
- Background in veterinary or animal-related fields such as equine experience adds valuable expertise
- Strong customer service skills to support pet owners and foster positive relationships

Pay: $15.40 - $22.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- Everyone is hired at minimum wage. Onec trained, usually within two weeks, then is eligible for sharing in tips which usually brings the hourly pay up to $22 per hour. Tip share has to do with hours worked.
