Position Overview:
The Floor Care Equipment Technician is responsible for the proper operation, cleaning, and maintenance of floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and vacuums. This role ensures that facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety while extending the life and performance of all floor care machinery. The position may require occasional travel to different job sites or customer locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment including scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, burnishers, and extractors.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report any mechanical issues or repairs needed.
- Safely use cleaning solutions and chemicals in compliance with safety and OSHA guidelines.
- Clean, strip, wax, buff, and polish floors as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment usage, and maintenance.
- Follow established schedules for facility floor care and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist with training others in the safe use and maintenance of floor care equipment.
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, organized, and safe.
- Travel to various job sites as needed to perform services, deliver equipment, or support customer needs.
- Perform additional custodial or facility support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience operating and maintaining floor care equipment strongly preferred.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and OSHA standards a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
