Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Experienced CNC Mill/Lathe Set Up/Programmer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling and/or lathe machines to produce high-precision parts. Your expertise will ensure efficient manufacturing processes, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement in machining operations.
Duties
- Set up CNC milling and lathe machines, including tooling selection and fixture installation, ensuring proper machine calibration for each job
- Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software and G-code to optimize machining processes for complex parts
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts within specified tolerances
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to verify part quality during production
- Perform manual machining tasks when necessary to support prototype or small-batch runs
- Troubleshoot machining issues promptly, adjusting programs or setups to maintain production flow
- Conduct CNC quality inspections and ensure all parts meet GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
- Determine work holding/fixturing methods.
- Accurately record time spent on specific jobs or other activities during the week.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Adherence to AS9100D and or IATF 16949 quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience setting up and programming CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC G-code programming, M-code functions, and CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD systems
- Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting mechanical blueprints with precision measurement instruments
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements
- Demonstrated experience in close tolerance machining.
- Ability to problem solve without direct supervision.
- Be flexible and willing to tackle new challenges and have a positive “can-do" attitude.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
