The Nash features a beautiful, design-forward bar serving a cosmopolitan clientele from all over the world - business travelers, downtown regulars, and guests who appreciate elevated hospitality. We’re seeking a bartender who is confident behind the stick, passionate about craft cocktails, and exceptional with guest connection.
What You’ll Do
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Deliver warm, confident, and polished service—every guest, every time.
- Engage guests with ease: recommend cocktails by preference, mood, spirit, and occasion.
- Maintain situational awareness: read the room, manage pacing, and keep energy high while staying professional.
- Create memorable experiences for business travelers, regulars, and first-time visitors alike.
Mixology & Beverage Execution
- Execute classic cocktails and house cocktails with speed, accuracy, and consistency.
- Demonstrate strong technique: stirring, shaking, building, straining, dilution control, and proper glassware/ice.
- Maintain standards for garnish, presentation, and recipe specs.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal features, cocktail development, and spirit education (as requested by management).
Bar Operations
- Set up and break down the bar to standards (mise en place, cleanliness, organization).
- Maintain bar cleanliness, tools, glassware, stations, and guest-facing presentation throughout service.
- Manage tickets and service well timing; support servers with excellent service bar execution.
- Handle cash/credit transactions accurately and follow closing procedures.
Inventory & Compliance
- Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and check IDs consistently.
- Assist with stock rotation, labeling/dating, prep, and inventory counts.
- Minimize waste and protect product quality through proper handling and storage.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven bartending experience in a high-volume or quality-driven cocktail environment.
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine basics.
- Professional presence and communication—calm, confident, and guest-focused.
- Ability to multitask under pressure while keeping standards high.
- Punctuality, reliability, and team-first attitude.
- Comfortable serving a diverse, international, and business-oriented crowd.
Preferred (not required):
- Craft cocktail or mixology background (original cocktails, prep, infusions, syrups, batching).
- Fine dining or upscale bar experience.
- POS experience and strong cash handling.
- TABC certification (or willingness to obtain quickly).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to ~35 lbs (ice, cases, supplies).
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and high-traffic shifts.
