Job description:
Job Summary
We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to source components and materials required to fulfill government defense contracts. You will work directly under the Procurement Manager and alongside the existing procurement team.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure components and materials to support production work orders
- Create and send requests for quotes (RFQs) to approved vendors
- Collect, compare, and analyze vendor quotes for pricing, lead time, and availability
- Validate supplier qualification and compliance per contract requirements
- Create and issue purchase orders in the company ERP system
- Monitor open purchase order delivery status and follow up with vendors on delays
- Prepare cost analysis documentation and support margin review
- Maintain vendor contact lists and supplier records
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams on material availability and shortage resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation and filing per company procedures
Requirements
Must Have:
- 2+ years experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
- Experience creating RFQs, comparing vendor quotes, and issuing purchase orders
- Comfortable working with ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient in Google Sheets and/or Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for compliance)
Nice to Have:
- Experience in defense or government procurement
- Experience sourcing electronic or electromechanical components
- Knowledge of government procurement regulations
- Manufacturing environment experience
