Position Summary
Elder Corporation is looking for an experienced Field Mechanic – Heavy Equipment to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment in the field
Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs
Work on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and related components
Read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic software
Maintain electronic equipment service records
Work independently to minimize downtime and keep projects moving
Qualifications
3+ years of mechanic experience preferred, ideally with CAT and John Deere heavy equipment
Strong diesel engine and hydraulic diagnostic/repair skills
Experience using diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Basic computer and smartphone/iPhone skills
Willingness to work extended hours during construction season
Must provide own basic mechanic tools
Preferred Qualifications
Class A CDL
Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to work in both shop and outdoor environments
Comfortable working around heavy equipment and machinery
Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods
