Estimator/Systems Sales – Hybrid/Barbizon Lighting Dallas

Your Role: Participate as part of a team to increase overall sales and profits by identifying and acting on opportunities; providing exemplary experience to clients, distributors, and contractors. Effectively communicate while utilizing the company’s digital platforms to track and initiate all prospects, proposals, and sales; collaborate and support the rest of the team to create a positive environment. Responsibilities include:
- Receive incoming requests from consultants, repeat clients, public bid sites, or delegated by management.
- Respond to RFQs and RFPs for design-build construction projects, upgrades to the facilities of existing customers, and public works projects.
- Perform meticulous take-offs of construction documents, reviewing architectural drawings and specifications in order to determine potential for a profitable sale, often in total dollar amounts of 6 or 7 figures.
- Prepare bid documentation and initiate formal RFIs to confirm and clarify details.
- Build comprehensive spreadsheets for use in price quotes as well as project mobilization.
- Create detailed proposals to include quotations, bills of materials, insurance, bonds, and company qualifications.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Systems Sales and Project Management teams in generating proposals.
- Offer recommendations of preferred products and methods as needed.
- Issue detailed RFQ’s to manufacturers and distributors.
- Determine profit margins within prescribed guidelines based on evolving market conditions and business needs.
- Negotiate with clients and vendors, finalize sales agreements, and manage customer expectations.
- Follow-up with leads and customers to determine the status of open quotations.
- Maintaining a high conversion rate from sales leads to profitable sales.
- Process customer orders accurately and promptly, ensuring terms and delivery deadlines are met.
- Generate drop ship purchase orders to vendors, ensure they meet deadlines, and provide tracking info.
- Develop project documentation using software including but not limited to Microsoft Suite and Bluebeam.
- Initiate project handoffs to ensure detailed information is relayed to project managers and technicians.
- Provide post-sale support and technical assistance as necessary to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Compile Operation and Maintenance manuals for submittal to customers.
- Coordinate customer visits and site surveys.
- Maintain professional development by staying up to date with industry trends in products and applications.
- Act as a resource to the Sales team for simple technical questions and labor estimates.
- Perform sales order entry and purchase order entry, verifying the accuracy of vendor invoices.
- Update and maintain internal databases, including Excel spreadsheets, CRM, and ERP.
- Assist the sales team in upholding the standards of a clean, welcoming, and professional showroom/office.
- Provide back-up office coverage during regular business hours when other team members are unavailable.
- Assist Accounting in collection of aged receivables when necessary.
- Submit a weekly sales report of completed actions, work in progress, and pending sales actions.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Required skills include:
- Understand and interpret architectural drawings & specifications, schematics, product cut sheets, and manuals.
- Possess extensive knowledge of installation, operation, and integration of lighting control and rigging systems.
- Effectively communicate comprehensive solutions to clients and partners, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in sales processes and system design within the entertainment lighting and rigging Industries.
- Experience in the entertainment industry and/or with architectural lighting systems.
- Computer proficiency includes Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and proficiency with Bluebeam.
- Experience with order fulfillment software and/or CRM software are a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred.

The exempt salary range for an Estimator Systems Salesperson in Barbizon Lighting’s Western Region is currently $50,000 to $75,000 per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware that extensive industry experience or specific skills that fully match or exceed what is required may in fact increase this range. We strongly encourage all to apply.
