Putnam Circuit Court is looking to fill the position of Court Reporter. This position will be assigned to the Putnam Magistrate Court and will report to the magistrate. Please submit any resumes and/or questions to [email protected] no later than August 7, 2026.
Overview
Responsible for the recording, transcription and preservation of all court proceedings. Court Reporters are responsible for maintaining evidence, exhibits and providing administrative duties on behalf of the Court.
Position Responsibilities
Record and report all court proceedings using the court's automated system.
Timely prepare of transcripts of the record of proceedings when ordered.
Work in the automated case management system, as well as the queues.
Answer court telephones and questions from the attorneys and general public.
Maintain exhibits, depositions, recordings and notebooks of all proceedings of the court.
Assist other staff members in duties essential to the operations of the court program.
Some courts require the following duties and responsibilities: type orders, entries, documents and jury instructions; prepares and maintains files; prepares correspondence and distributes as required by the court; assist with the scheduling of cases on the court calendar; assist with the monitoring and ordering of supplies needed for the operation of the court.
