Position: Child Watch Coordinator
Wage: $20.06 to $21.32 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
Location: Pearl Street Family YMCA, Tacoma, WA
As a Child Watch Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and organizing age-appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
- Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent (preferred).
- One to two years of related experience as a coordinator of people or activities (preferred).
- Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines.
- Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, and file maintenance.
- Positive attitude and previous experience with [preschool-aged children] and diverse populations.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.

- Assist in recruiting and supervising volunteers to assist with programming support.
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities. Play actively with the children.
- Adapt activities to the needs of each.
- Monitor the health and socialization of children daily.

- Monitor the drop-off and pick-up of children to guarantee their safety while in our care. Greet parents and help children feel welcome.

Assist in providing support in our Child Watch program with leadership and motivation under the supervision of the Program Director. Ensures a safe, caring, and fun learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years while parents are utilizing the YMCA facilities. - Provide administrative assistance including but not limited to the distribution, processing, and maintenance of all paperwork, records, reports, memos, correspondence, inventory, and resupply.
- Maintain physical and/or electronic filing systems for all relevant information.
- Meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
