Agricultural Education TeacherChildress High School Childress, TexasPosition OverviewChildress High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Agricultural Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the diverse world of agriculture while equipping them with the knowledge, technical skills, and leadership abilities necessary for success in the agricultural industry.This full-time position includes teaching agricultural science courses, advising the FFA chapter, and providing hands-on learning opportunities that connect classroom instruction with real-world agricultural experiences. The successful candidate will help foster a positive learning environment while building strong relationships with students, parents, and the community.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & CurriculumDevelop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Texas state standards and district curriculum goalsTeach courses in agricultural science, animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and related agricultural pathwaysIncorporate hands-on learning experiences, including labs, projects, field experiences, and industry-based activitiesUtilize current agricultural technologies and instructional strategies to support student learningFFA Leadership & Student DevelopmentServe as FFA Advisor, guiding students in leadership development, competitions, livestock shows, and eventsPrepare and support students for FFA contests, conventions, and community service activitiesPromote student leadership, responsibility, and career readiness through agricultural education programsProgram Development & CollaborationCollaborate with colleagues, industry partners, and community members to strengthen the Agricultural Education programMaintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom and laboratory environmentEngage with parents and community stakeholders to promote the value and impact of agricultural educationAssessment & Student SupportMonitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic growthMaintain accurate records of student performance and program activitiesEncourage student participation and foster a positive, inclusive classroom cultureQualificationsBachelors degree in Agricultural Education, Agricultural Science, or a related fieldValid Texas Teaching Certificate in Agricultural EducationStrong knowledge of agricultural practices, technologies, and industry standardsExperience with FFA or other agricultural student leadership organizations preferredExcellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build strong relationships with students, parents, and community partnersCommitment to professional development and continued growth in agricultural educationAdditional RequirementsCurrently hold or be willing to obtain WSC Welding certCurrently hold or be willing to obtain a Texas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
