Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Contracting Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our construction projects. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents to develop precise estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals and bid packages.
- Analyze project scope, material requirements, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes to develop accurate budgets.
- Manage project estimates from initial concept through final bid submission, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process, adjusting estimates as needed to optimize profitability and risk management.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure all technical aspects are accurately reflected in the estimate.
Skills
- Extensive experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction drawing review and interpretation.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and Xactimate for accurate cost analysis and proposal preparation.
- Skilled in managing projects as a construction estimator with a focus on cost control and budget adherence.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing on materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
- Deep knowledge of contracts, construction management principles, and project management processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately estimate material requirements.
- Strong background in construction site experience combined with a comprehensive understanding of construction estimating best practices.
