Homeless Coordinated Entry Specialist - Fond du Lac/Oshkosh
Become ADVOCAP’s regional expert on assessing, documenting, reporting and advocating for homeless individuals and families in Fond du Lac, Winnebago, and Green Lake Counties. This direct service position will also be the lead in maintaining a database that is used by ADVOCAP, partner agencies, and investors to keep current on the extent of homelessness in the Winnebagoland Continuum of Care region and is the gateway for coordinated access to essential housing stability services. The Coordinated Entry Specialist will train and engage local organizations to assist with the Coordinated Entry System.
Responsibilities Include:
- Interview homeless individuals to determine the extent of barriers to their housing stability and enter their information into the Coordinated Entry System for prioritization and access to needed services.
- As directed, provide training and technical assistance, coordinating and facilitating meetings and conference calls, and working with community partners to identify and address barriers to housing
- As directed, represent the agency by actively participating in community committees, work groups, and governing boards to promote collaboration and improve housing outcomes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or an equivalent combination of education/training/experience, plus a minimum of three years’ work experience with low-income individuals and families.
- Computer software skills are necessary to establish and maintain participant records, oversee database systems, and generate and disseminate reports.
- Ability to facilitate meetings, provide training, and develop collaborative relationships.
- Knowledge of poverty, trauma-informed care, and barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Understanding and appreciation for ADVOCAP’s mission, vision, and values.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and develop rapport and trust with those experiencing homelessness
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and vehicle liability insurance coverage.
- Acceptable drug screen and comprehensive background check.
Salary and Benefits:
Full-time, 36-hour workweek position with an entry hourly wage of $22, more based on exceeding minimum qualifications. ADVOCAP has an excellent benefit package. This full-time position will have access to health, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our employer-contribution 401k.
