American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a CA RN license, at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience, and Epic proficiency.

Neuro Intensive Care Unit in a hospital setting
-
1:2 patient ratio
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Every other weekend (EOW) required
-
Float requirement to ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active CA RN license required, in hand prior to consideration
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required as reflected on application
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
-
TNCC certification preferred
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Trauma Level II hospital experience required
-
Trauma Level I and community hospital experience preferred
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Prior charge nurse experience preferred
-
Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
-
Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
-
Experience managing EVDs, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocols, and post-neurosurgical care
-
Experience with titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous sedation, and neuromuscular blockade
-
Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation/management and 12-lead EKG acquisition
-
Experience with GI surgery patients and IV insulin protocols preferred
-
2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
-
Valid AHA or ARC certifications with current expiration dates required

Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury cases
-
Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure in a high-acuity ICU environment
-
Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, at the local pay rate
-
Returning staff or travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before reapplying

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
-
Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
-
Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing

7-year work history verification required for all candidates
