Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support our operational goals. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment types.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, cranes, excavators, forklifts, and other heavy-duty machinery.
- Replace shocks & struts, perform wheel alignments, tire service, brake repairs, and suspension work to ensure optimal safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Skills
- Proven experience working with dealership service departments or heavy equipment repair shops.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery, and automotive diagnostics.
- Skilled in the use of schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulic circuits.
- Ability to perform precise vehicle maintenance tasks like alignments, air brake adjustments, tire service, shocks & struts replacement.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs.
- Capable of heavy lifting safely while working in a fast-paced environment; familiarity with industrial safety standards is essential.
