POSITION SUMMARY
The QMHP-Intern provides behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy and other authorized mental health services under the supervision of a Nevada board-approved clinical supervisor. This position is intended for a post-practicum graduate who is completing supervised clinical hours toward independent Nevada licensure. The intern must practice only within the scope authorized by the applicable Nevada licensing board, Nevada Medicaid, the approved supervision plan and WHAM policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide individual, family or group psychotherapy and other clinical services only when authorized by the intern license, supervision agreement and treatment plan.
· Complete or assist with behavioral health assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, reviews and discharge planning within the intern’s authorized scope.
· Develop measurable, person-centered treatment goals and document medical necessity and client progress.
· Provide crisis assessment and intervention within training and immediately consult the supervisor regarding safety risks, abuse, neglect, suicidal or homicidal concerns, or other emergencies.
· Complete accurate, individualized and timely progress notes and all required clinical documentation.
· Coordinate care with authorized providers, families, guardians and community partners.
· Attend required individual and group clinical supervision, case consultation, staff meetings and training.
· Maintain professional boundaries, client rights, HIPAA confidentiality and ethical conduct.
· Comply with Nevada Medicaid Chapter 400, the applicable licensing board, WHAM policies and all supervision requirements.
· Perform only duties that are permitted by the intern’s current license, competence and approved supervision plan.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s degree in social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology or another qualifying clinical behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution.
· Successful completion of the required graduate practicum or internship component before beginning post-graduate clinical hours.
· Current, active Nevada intern license or registration with the applicable licensing board, such as Clinical Social Work Intern, Clinical Professional Counselor Intern, or Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, before performing services that require intern status.
· Approved primary and any required secondary clinical supervisor, with all supervision agreements or board approvals in place before clinical practice begins.
· Eligibility for enrollment, affiliation or rendering-provider status required by Nevada Medicaid and WHAM for assigned services.
· Ability to provide proof of education, intern status, supervision approval and good standing throughout employment.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
· Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
· Current TB screening or clearance.
· Successful criminal background and exclusion screenings.
· Valid Nevada driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance when community travel is required.
· Completion of WHAM orientation, HIPAA, mandated reporting, clinical documentation, crisis response, professional boundaries and EHR training.
· Maintenance of all board, Medicaid, supervision and continuing-education requirements throughout employment.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION
The QMHP-Intern must practice under an approved clinical supervision plan. The intern shall attend supervision at the frequency required by the applicable Nevada licensing board and WHAM, accurately track clinical and supervision hours, follow supervisory direction, and immediately disclose any lapse, restriction, disciplinary action or change in intern status. The intern may not independently practice, supervise other clinicians, or represent themself as independently licensed.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
