Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our supply chain operations team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods across our supply chain network. Your expertise will ensure seamless coordination between procurement, warehouse management, transportation, and customer service functions. Responsibilities
- Coordinate warehouse distribution activities, including inventory control, stocking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS) to plan and execute transportation logistics and optimize freight costs.
- Conduct data collection and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, and Tableau to monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify areas for process improvement.
- Manage procurement processes by sourcing vendors, negotiating pricing, and overseeing vendor management to secure cost-effective supply solutions.
- Oversee category management and demand planning activities to align inventory levels with forecasted sales and production schedules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, production planning, customer service, and international trade teams to ensure compliance with trade regulations and trade compliance standards.
- Perform root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or inefficiencies to implement corrective actions that enhance overall logistics performance.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping & freight documentation, inventory transactions, and compliance reports in ERP systems such as AS400 or equivalent platforms.
Qualifications
- Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a strong understanding of warehouse experience, inventory management systems, and logistics processes.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like AS400 or SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for data analysis.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets using SQL or Tableau for actionable insights.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, trade compliance standards, NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, and 3PL logistics providers.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, vendor management, procurement strategies, and category management to optimize costs and service levels.
- Skilled in process improvement methodologies such as root cause analysis and lean principles to enhance operational efficiency.
- Valid forklift certification or experience operating manual handling equipment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams involved in supply chain management.
