Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Food Prep team member to support our busy kitchen operations. This role is essential in maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and food safety standards within our Nursing Home. Ideal candidates will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with experience in food handling and kitchen procedures. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and readiness for service
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning to support kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and storage spaces in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and resetting dining areas efficiently
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality of all food items
- Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision to support culinary operations
- Adhere to all sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, catering, or hospital environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
- Experience with food preparation, bussing, or banquet service is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaborative work
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends or evenings if required
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies is desirable
