Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Air Import Coordinator to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the coordination and management of air freight imports, ensuring smooth operations from shipment arrival to delivery. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, technical proficiency with warehouse management systems, and a comprehensive understanding of shipping procedures. Duties
- Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from carriers to ensure timely arrivals and clearance.
- Communicate effectively with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth import procedures.
- Manage documentation such as bills of lading, airway bills, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms to track shipments, update statuses, and manage inventory data.
- Oversee the loading, unloading, and storage of imported goods using equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and stock placement for efficient warehouse distribution and order fulfillment.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by coordinating order picking & packing processes for domestic or international dispatches.
- Maintain accurate records of import activities, inventory levels, and shipment statuses using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
- Assist in warehouse stocking tasks including order picking, order fulfillment, and inventory adjustments.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff on load & unload operations to optimize space utilization and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience in warehouse management or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing.
- Hands-on experience operating forklift trucks, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400 or similar ERP platforms such as MRPs.
- Understanding of import/export regulations related to air freight shipments.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Prior experience working with e-commerce fulfillment centers is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data entry.
