Maintenance Engineer
Are you someone who enjoys solving problems, working with your hands, and taking pride in keeping buildings safe and operating at their best? The Radisson Duluth Hotel is looking for a dependable, service-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our team!
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our hotel remains clean, safe, comfortable, and fully operational for guests and team members. From responding to guest maintenance requests to performing preventive maintenance and repairs, you'll help create an exceptional guest experience every day.
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency.
- Perform preventive maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
- Complete general repairs including painting, drywall, carpentry, flooring, fixtures, doors, locks, and furniture.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues.
- Complete work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Assist with seasonal property maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, and exterior upkeep as needed.
- Respond appropriately to emergency maintenance situations.
- Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and other departments to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
- Previous hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Reliable attendance, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying materials and equipment. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate hand and power tools while working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
