Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounting Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate financial record-keeping and support our organization’s financial health. As an integral part of our team, you will manage essential bookkeeping functions, reconcile accounts, and assist with financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Duties
- Perform data entry of financial transactions into various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare journal entries for general ledger adjustments and assist with month-end closing processes.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify data integrity.
- Assist with tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, including double-entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation documentation.
Experience
- Proven knowledge in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or public accounting environments.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP standards and SOX compliance procedures.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze accounts, perform account reconciliation, and support budgeting or credit analysis activities.
