Position Overview: Youth Consultation Service (YCS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide essential therapy services for students and clients across various programs, including school, residential, treatment home, family-based services, early intervention, camps, and community programs. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with New Jersey regulations and standards while promoting the overall well-being and development of each student/client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Occupational Therapy (OT) curriculum tailored to individual student/client needs.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate status, abilities, interests, and needs, establishing realistic goals and objectives for IEPs and OT programs.
- Monitor and report on developmental progress three times per year.
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to support personal, social, educational, and vocational plans.
- Foster positive relationships with community agencies to enhance support for students and families.
- Facilitate the development of decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills among students.
- Maintain comprehensive records of therapy sessions and student/client progress.
- Act as a liaison between school and residential programs to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program with completion of a pediatric/psychosocial internship.
- Current license/certification in the State of New Jersey.
- Experience in a school setting, with at least one year of acceptable internship experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skills & Abilities:
- Empathy and compassion in interactions with students
- Good judgment and the ability to evaluate situations effectively.
- Proficiency in behavior management systems and ethical practices.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, walking, and visual/auditory engagement.
- Occasional lifting, standing, and travel.

- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States and pass a criminal background check.
