What We Do:
Job Description: Provide professional vegetation management service by efficiently and safely operating custom-made application equipment in a manner that meets or exceeds company specifications and customer’s expectations.
Responsibilities & Annual Work Schedule
1. February – November: Herbicide Application
- Operating truck-mounted sprayers, UTV’s, and backpack sprayers
- February – May: Residential and Industrial bare-ground applications
- April – September: Noxious weed treatments and pasture weed control
- June – August: Forest and county roadside applications (Around 60 weeknights out-of-town, home every weekend)
- October – November: Residential and Industrial bare-ground applications
2. December – March: Commercial Snow and Ice Management
- Apply liquid ice-melt using truck & ATV-mounted sprayers
- Operate sidewalk machines. skid steer/loader plows, or truck-mounted plows with occasional hand shoveling
- Most work occurs at night or early morning
3. December – January: Shop Projects
- Fleet maintenance, vehicle washing, spray system repair, and potential for light fabrication, plumbing, and wiring depending on skillset
Who We’re Looking For:
Minimum Requirements
- At least 18 years old with a valid U.S. Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Able to pass drug screening and background check
- Able to lift 75lbs and carry 40lbs backpack sprayer on steep & uneven terrain
- Willing to work 60+ hrs/week in the summer and some partial Saturdays
- Willing to work out-of-town 30-60 weeknights/year
- Willing to work nights in the winter
- Able to acquire a Commercial Applicators license – we provide study material, paid study time, and pay testing fee
- Able to pass DOT Interstate Physical Exam
Skills Needed to Succeed
- Able to safely operate large F550 trucks with trailers and UTV’s on uneven terrain
- Able to work independently (Self-Starter, Integrity, Reliable, Punctual, Problem Solving)
- Able to do basic math (fractions, decimals, percentages, basic algebra)
- Clear and professional communication
- Ability to understand and follow instruction
- Willing to learn and accept feedback
- Operating smartphone and tablets
- Attentionto detail and record keeping
