As a Cook at TALR, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that bring joy to our residents' lives. We believe in serving more than just food; we serve happiness and comfort with every plate.
With a smile on your face and a great attitude, you'll prepare food in accordance with our facility policies and procedures, ensuring that our residents receive exceptional dining experiences every time.
And here's the best part: we've equipped our kitchen staff with innovative tools to make your job easier and more enjoyable. Say goodbye to tedious inventory management because we have an easy-to-use app that streamlines the process.
Additionally, our paid software provides readily available and printable menus, complete with prep/pull, recipe, ingredients, and daily menu features. With these resources at your fingertips, you can focus on what you love most—cooking delicious meals that delight our residents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and serve meals that are appetizing and in accordance with medically appropriate portion control
- Prepare & review menus prior to preparation of food
- Purchase all food items, both online and in person (you must have your own transportation.
- Food ordering, pantry organizing and food grocery shopping
- Maintaining and budgeting of food cost
- Maintain appropriate way of labeling food based on policies and procedures
- Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Help serve during lunch and dinner
- Wash dishes after all meals have been served
- Must be able to work full time 40 hrs a week (days off negotiable)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in a nursing home, hospital, assisted living unit or other health care facility for seniors or institutional setting in food service is desirable
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Able to follow recipes and menus
- Excellent work ethic
Other Requirements - we are available to assist you in getting these items
- Fingerprint clearance card
- CPR card and TB test
- Food Manager Certification
