What we need
As the Warehouse Quality Control & Inventory Manager, you will lead quality and inventory performance across receiving, storage, fulfillment, packaging, and shipping operations at our Jackson, GA distribution center. You will establish standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure inventory accuracy and operational quality throughout the facility.
Reporting to the Warehouse Optimization Manager, this role is responsible for building scalable processes, developing teams, and creating a culture of accountability that reduces errors, improves performance, and supports operational excellence.

What you’ll do
Operational Quality
-
Own and enforce quality standards across receiving, storage, fulfillment, packaging, and shipping operations.

Conduct and oversee inspections throughout the operational workflow, including: Inbound supplier receipts, In-process operational checks, Outbound order verification and packaging inspections

Develop inspection criteria, sampling plans, and acceptance/rejection standards.

Monitor supplier quality performance, track defect trends, and lead corrective actions with vendors.

Establish and maintain packaging quality standards, including: Dimensional accuracy, Labeling compliance, Seal integrity, Product presentation
Inventory Management

Own inventory accuracy as a core operational quality metric.

Develop and manage: Cycle count programs, Inventory reconciliation processes, Variance investigation procedures

Monitor inventory accuracy by SKU, location, and warehouse zone.

Identify root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with FIFO and product rotation requirements where applicable.

Partner with Operations and Systems teams to maintain accurate inventory records in Navision or equivalent systems.

Lead inventory variance resolution efforts from investigation through closure.
Continuous Improvement
-
Lead the facility's continuous improvement (CI) program focused on quality and inventory performance.

Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies such as: 8D, DMAIC, A3, Root Cause Analysis

Analyze defect, return, inventory variance, and operational performance data.

Develop and maintain quality KPIs and reporting for leadership.

Facilitate Kaizen events and process improvement initiatives.
-
Implement corrective actions, validate results, and document sustainable improvements.
Food Safety & Compliance
-
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HACCP programs where applicable.

Ensure food safety standards are consistently followed across receiving, storage, and handling processes.

Manage compliance requirements related to: Food safety, Quality certifications, Sustainability programs, Environmental and social responsibility initiatives, Water safety (SASH)

Integrate compliance requirements into daily operational practices.
Systems & Documentation

Maintain accurate records including: Quality inspections, Inventory, reconciliations, Corrective action plans, Audit documentation

Develop and maintain SOPs for quality and inventory-related processes.

Ensure documentation is current, accessible, and audit-ready.

Utilize Navision and supporting systems to track performance and compliance requirements.
Team Leadership

Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality and inventory professionals.

Drive accountability for quality standards across all warehouse functions and shifts.

Provide training and support to operations teams on quality, inventory, and compliance requirements.

Foster a culture where quality and inventory accuracy are shared operational responsibilities.
What you’ll need
-
High school diploma. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Minimum 8 years of experience in warehouse quality assurance, inventory management, operations quality, or a related field.

Proven experience leading quality programs and managing teams.

Hands-on experience managing quality across: Receiving, Fulfillment, Packaging, Shipping operations

Demonstrated success managing inventory accuracy programs, including: Cycle counting, Variance resolution, FIFO compliance, Inventory KPI reporting

Strong continuous improvement experience utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and drive action.

Experience with Navision or comparable WMS/ERP platforms.

Working knowledge of HACCP and food safety requirements within warehouse operations.

Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with both frontline teams and senior leadership.

Professional certifications such as: SQF, BRC, ASQ CQM, ASQ CQE, Equivalent quality certifications (SQF preferred).

Experience in a high-SKU distribution, 3PL, or supply chain environment.

Experience supporting both automated and manual fulfillment operations.

Proven success building quality assurance and inventory control programs from the ground up.
