Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Perfusionist performs functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or replace the patient’s cardiopulmonary/circulatory function and ensures the proper management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.

Responsibilities:
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Bachelor’s Degree in Perfusion Technology or Bachelor Degree with a Certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program.
Experience And Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- 1 year experience as a Perfusionist (inclusive of clinical rotations)
- Basic MS Office Suite capabillities
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized or emergency situations Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics
License/Certifications
- New York State licensure and certification as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion
- NYS Limited Permit must be obtained before treatment begins. Upon obtaining, employee has up to one year to obtain full license.
