Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Team Leader to support inspection operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing inspection workflow, ensuring compliance with quality standards, supporting ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements, and maintaining control of non-conforming materials.
The Quality Inspection Team Lead plays a key role in driving quality performance, supporting audit readiness, evaluating inspector performance, and ensuring consistent execution of inspection and quality processes across production operations.
Shift placement will be based on business needs and candidate availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inspection team workflow to ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and quality standards
- Evaluate inspector performance and provide structured feedback to leadership and project coordination teams
- Support quality planning, inspection execution, and assembly processes
- Ensure proper segregation, documentation, and control of non-conforming, rejected, and scrap materials
- Coordinate with logistics and production teams to maintain accurate material flow and inventory control
- Perform scrap tracking, analysis, and reporting
- Assist with Layered Process Audits (LPA) and internal quality audits
- Support calibration verification and equipment control processes
- Maintain accurate inspection records in compliance with QMS requirements
- Assist with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities
- Support document control and data integrity procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or plant environment
- 1–3 years of leadership or team lead experience preferred
- Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, height gauges, etc.)
- Strong understanding of quality inspection processes, calibration, and measurement techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Strong organizational, analytical, and basic math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and quality reporting systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following strict safety and quality standards
Education & Certifications
- Technical training in manufacturing, quality systems, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems strongly preferred
- Certifications such as QMS, ISO, or AS9102 are a plus
