Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise in accounting systems, client communication, and financial analysis will contribute to the smooth operation of our revenue cycle management. Duties
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation using financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft
- Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts through effective collection strategies and negotiation with clients
- Maintain accurate data entry of billing information, payment details, and customer records within various accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Conduct detailed analysis of accounts receivable aging reports to identify discrepancies and resolve billing issues promptly
- Collaborate with internal teams on client communication regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and dispute resolution
- Prepare journal entries related to receivables, revenue recognition, and adjustments in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support month-end closing processes by reconciling accounts receivable ledger balances and preparing relevant reports for management
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts receivable management, collections account management, or related functions
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP and familiarity with SOX compliance standards
- Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with billing software is highly desirable
- Advanced skills in Excel data analysis, formulas, spreadsheets, and account reconciliation techniques
- Ability to perform detailed analysis using Excel formulas and pivot tables for account analysis and reporting
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, negotiation, and customer service; phone etiquette is essential
- Experience with medical billing, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10 coding standards or governmental accounting is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook; familiarity with medical terminology or revenue cycle management is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
