The Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor role with the Department of Corrections gives you the chance to teach practical electrical skills that can change lives. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position provides electrical trade instruction and oversees inmate work assignments to support operations and vocational development. As a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Trade Instruction: Teach electrical systems, tools, and standard work practices and proceduresWork Crew Oversight: Direct inmate work crews, review completed tasks, and maintain order during projectsMaterial Control: Issue, track, and secure tools and supplies used during training and job assignmentsProgress Documentation: Record attendance, skill development, and assignment details for each inmate traineeTraining Management: Plan lessons, assign daily schedules, and deliver structured classroom instructionOperational Support: Assist with related duties that maintain smooth facility operationsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).
