Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, common areas, and other designated spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing sanitation tasks, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through buffing, polishing, and floor care techniques to ensure a polished appearance.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials to ensure continuous availability.
- Follow safety protocols during all custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health standards.
- Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs and residential painting as needed to support overall building upkeep.
Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles with strong knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning practices.
- Skilled in the use of cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while following all safety protocol adherence guidelines.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks required for maintaining large areas efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Familiarity with sanitation standards and facilities maintenance procedures to uphold health regulations.
- Experience in industrial cleaning or porter roles is preferred for versatility in various environments.
