Description
The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work for a military installation as a contractor. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the engineering department of the client and assists the project managers.
- Lead designer for interior design of government projects on a military installation.
- Lead designer for the engineering team in the development and execution of projects.
- Works with the COR to develop SOWs and IGEs for interior finishes and furniture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program.
- Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture, space planning and furniture specifying experience
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and design intent construction document production
- Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills
- A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
- Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
- Experience in AutoCAD.
