American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Pulmonary unit working night shifts with an Alabama or Compact RN license required.

36-bed telemetry unit specializing in diagnosing and treating patients with respiratory disorders and a wide range of lung diseases or injuries
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6

Floating to other units and hospitals is required
-
Collaborative work environment with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy

EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
-
13-week contract
-
Active AL state or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No prior license hits (past or current) allowed
-
Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
-
Associate degree in nursing or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
-
At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or pulmonary nursing required

NURSYS license verification required

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Current driver's license required for consideration

Deliver specialized telemetry nursing care to pulmonary patients with a variety of respiratory conditions
-
Requires a strong foundation in general medicine combined with expertise in respiratory nursing skills

Virtual orientation is provided and includes competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
-
Candidates will be required to complete an online cardiac exam after offer acceptance
-
Holiday coverage is required as assigned

Solid navy scrubs required
