Job Title: Bartender

Reports to: Restaurant General Manager
Job Summary: The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages to customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. This role requires a thorough knowledge of mixology, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.

Take beverage orders from customers and servers.

Provide recommendations and answer questions about the menu and beverages.
Drink Preparation:

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.

Create new and innovative cocktails to enhance the bar menu.

Ensure proper portion control and presentation of beverages.
Bar Maintenance:

Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including bar tops, sinks, glasses, and equipment.

Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food and beverage handling.

Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Cash Handling:

Process transactions accurately using the POS system.

Handle cash, credit card transactions, and customer tabs efficiently.

Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation of the cash drawer.
Team Collaboration:

Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Assist in training new bar staff as needed.

Communicate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality service.
Compliance and Safety:

Verify the identification and age of customers to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements.

Monitor customer behavior and consumption to prevent over-serving and ensure a safe environment.

Handle difficult situations with tact and professionalism, including dealing with intoxicated patrons.

Adhere to Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) guidelines and ensure all staff follow these protocols.

Complete and maintain RBS certification as required by state law.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a bartender in a high-volume setting.

Extensive knowledge of mixology, beverage recipes, and ingredients.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification (if required by state law).

Ability to obtain a Food Handlers card

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with creating and promoting signature cocktails.
