Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude and manage their seating experience efficiently
- Handle restaurant reservation management using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to optimize table assignments
- Manage waitlists and communicate wait times clearly via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
- Maintain organized reservation records and monitor table availability to maximize seating capacity
- Assist guests with inquiries about menu items, restaurant policies, and special requests, delivering outstanding guest services
- Uphold food safety standards by adhering to proper hygiene and sanitation protocols during guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong restaurant reservation management skills using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent customer service abilities with a welcoming demeanor and effective communication skills
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems for efficient operations
- Ability to handle phone communication professionally, demonstrating proper phone etiquette
- Solid organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow seamlessly
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, seating counts, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices to ensure guest well-being
- Experience in food service or restaurant roles that enhance guest relations and service quality
