SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Logistics, Maintenance & Salvage, perform tasks necessary to assure completion of assigned work in the transportation of goods to and from the Retail Stores and other retail outlets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform required truck driving responsibilities to ensure goods are picked up and delivered from stores on a timely basis in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Must organize and load trucks, safely, neatly and properly.
- Move, organize, and stack donated goods, salvage, and waste in warehouse space or in trucks with the use of material handling equipment.
- Bale salvage materials, as needed.
- Report any unsafe working conditions or equipment to the immediate supervisor for replacement or repair.
- Be proficient in the operation of the forklift and maintain a current forklift certification card.
- Ensure that all assigned work areas and trucks are kept in a clean and orderly manner.
- Provide minor repair/maintenance company vehicles and equipment.
- Abide by policies and regulations stated in the Goodwill Motor Vehicle Fleet Safety Policy.
- Provide guidance and leadership to Truck Driver Helpers.
- Project the “Goodwill” image in the community by personal appearance and personality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Class D driver’s license is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of power and hand tools
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, employees, donors, internal/external customers and administrative staff.
- Must maintain up-to-date forklift certification.
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat clean and well-groomed appearance.
- Must be able to pass MVR checks and provide proof of a valid Driver’s license and personal auto insurance.
