Vine Homecare, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll and Bookkeeper to support our organization’s financial and payroll operations. This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining financial records, and assisting with general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, and able to manage confidential information with professionalism.
Position Summary
The Payroll and Bookkeeper perform a combination of payroll processing and bookkeeping duties to ensure accurate financial records and timely employee compensation. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and helps maintain compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing on a scheduled basis to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation using Paychex Flex Platform. This also include verifying time records, calculating wages, deductions, and other adjustments.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts.
- Prepare and maintain payroll records, employee deductions, tax documentation, and related reports.
- Track invoices, payments, and outstanding balances.
- Manage employees in payroll system, including new hires and terminations. Update employee profiles for salary and benefit changes.
- Keeps the administrator informed of any work problems and issues.
- Work and coordinate with scheduling team in onboarding and offboarding employees.
- Miscellaneous administrative duties as needed by various departments
- Reviews all payroll information and payroll checks for accuracy
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Support compliance with payroll, tax, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Communicate professionally with staff, vendors, and outside professionals regarding payroll and accounting matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Help with scheduling when available
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in accounting preferred.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or general accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and payroll procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting and payroll software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of Paychex Flex Platform, payroll tax filings, Pay and employee benefit deductions.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work Environment
This position is typically office-based and requires regular use of computer systems, accounting software, and communication tools. This role may involve working with multiple departments, external vendors, and financial service providers.
Compensation and Benefits
