About the Role
We are looking for an experienced teacher or a substitute teacher to join our First Preparatory Christian Academy classroom. As a substitute teacher, you will be working on our school's team. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently while facilitating the lessons left by the classroom teacher and enforcing school policy. You will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the school's curriculum and teaching methods. The goal is to contribute to the students’ learning experience by creating an environment conducive to learning and make them feel comfortable in their classes.
Responsibilities
Follow our lesson plans
- Prepare for class
- Assess students’ knowledge and progress through our curriculum
- Maintain a classroom environment in accordance with our school policies and state standards
- Maintain a safe learning environment
- Guide children through activities, while also providing individual instruction
- Develop an appropriate level of supervision for each student, while also providing individual instruction
- Observe students’ behavior and report to parents if necessary
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and administration
- Prepare weekly report on student performance, where applicable
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 3:30pm. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference in a small school setting and learn about what it takes to run a successful classroom!
