Accurate Personnel is hiring a Logistics Supervisor in Ruther Glen, VA
Pay: $47,500 - $52,500 a year (Salary Exempt)
This hands-on role combines team supervision with active dispatch duties in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee site workflow, streamline yard planning, coordinate with key accounts, and ensure on-time carrier deliveries.
Schedule Requirement: This is a 24/7 mission-critical operation. Candidates must have absolute flexibility to work graveyard hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as well as cover open shifts unexpectedly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision: Provide daily administrative leadership and guidance to the dispatch team.
- Active Dispatch: Process emergency/non-emergency requests and maintain real-time contact with drivers.
- Systems & Data: Monitor and validate data entries in TMW TruckMate.
- Yard Management: Plan yard layouts to improve throughput, dock turns, and reduce gate congestion.
- Coordination: Manage carrier performance, equipment availability, and communicate with management and clients.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–4 years of directly related logistics/dispatch supervisory experience.
- Education: High School Diploma/G.E.D. (advanced coursework in logistics/data processing preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of DOT rules, weight capacities, and load specifications.
- Tech Skills: Proficient in MS Office and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Experience with TruckMate, PC Miler, Fleetmatics, or RoadNet is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Proven ability to coach staff, resolve conflicts, and handle high-stress environments. Bilingual skills are a plus.
