As the Finance Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of our Finance Department while leading a team responsible for the Credit Union's accounting functions. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and provides financial insight to support strategic decision-making. You'll partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer and play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, improving processes, and supporting organizational goals.
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Finance Department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and staff development.

Manage the monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Coordinate internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and the resolution of audit findings.

Support business continuity planning and departmental readiness during operational disruptions.

Provide backup support for critical accounting functions, including regulatory reporting and cash management.

Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

Lead, coach, and develop Finance Department staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Minimum of five years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

Experience leading or supervising a team.

Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
