Required
High School Diploma, Serve Safe certificate from a nationally recognized Food Safety Program
Preferred:
Previous administrative or clerical experience, experience in school food service, and accounting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and /or Google Workspace
SCOPE OF WORK
The Administrative Assistant for the Food Service Department provides clerical, planning, coordinating, and operational support for the district's child nutrition program in compliance with the local, State, and Federal regulations; assists the Food Service Director in coordinating food service operations across the district.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Provide administrative support to the Food Service Director and food service department staff.

Maintain records related to meal counts, free and reduced meal applications, inventory, and compliance documentation.

Assist with date entry and reporting for state and federal child nutrition programs.

Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and department communications.

Coordinate communication between the Food Service Director, kitchen managers, vendors, and district staff.

Assist with ordering supplies, processing invoices, and maintaining purchasing records.

Support timekeeping processes for approximately 32 food service employees.

Maintain confidential employee and student information.

Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and provide customer service to families and staff.

Assist with scheduling meetings, trainings, and department events.

Maintain, organize, and document in accordance with district policies and retention requirements.

Provide backup support for department operations as needed.

Maintain relationships with the district Homeless Liaison and Social Workers, and maintain Direct Certification lists and extended benefits.

Prepare and submit daily deposits to accounting and post payments to meal accounts.
- Assist where needed as directed by the Director of Food Services.

Assumes responsibility for the food services program in the absence of the Director of Food Services.

Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.

Ability to stand without sitting for extended periods of time on a hard surface.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk or computer.

Ability to perform repetitive motions such as bending, stirring, lifting, sitting.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Compensation is according to the non-certified salary schedule and based upon position category, experience and years of service. Non-certified benefits are offered according to full versus part time status, and explained in the district's benefit brochure. This position is 261 days, 8 hours daily.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Director of Food Services in accordance with board policies of the Warrensburg School District.
