We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team for a contract position. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting specialist who can step into day-to-day operations while helping strengthen monthly reporting processes. The position will support core accounting activities across the full cycle and work closely with global colleagues to improve consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in financial deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete month-end close activities to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording, reviewing, and adjusting financial transactions as needed.
- Create and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and attention to detail.
- Perform account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and ensure balances are accurate.
- Reconcile bank activity regularly and investigate variances to maintain clean cash records.
- Provide direct support for accounts payable and other full-cycle accounting tasks as business needs require.
- Partner with team members across regions to help establish effective workflows and improve reporting execution.
- Contribute to fund accounting activities when applicable, depending on prior experience and business needs.
- Proven experience in senior-level accounting work with responsibility for month-end close and monthly reporting.
- Strong understanding of general ledger management and full-cycle accounting processes.
- Ability to prepare journal entries and complete detailed account reconciliations accurately.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching outstanding variances.
- Willingness to take a hands-on approach and manage both strategic and transactional accounting responsibilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with distributed or international teams.
- Fund accounting experience is helpful but not required.
