Wholey's Market, 1711 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh's historic Strip District is celebrating 111 years in business and is seeking a candidate for immediate openings for our Produce, Clerk position. This part-time Saturday and Sunday (7-15 hours) role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build upon their experience, work ethic, and passion for customer service to be a part of the success of this longtime Pittsburgh company. As a member of our team, your primary focus will be servicing the customers and ensuring they have the freshest fruits and vegetables available at the best prices possible. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of retail food service experience. However, we will train the right person if they have the right attitude and willingness to work. To truly be successful here, you must be a team player first!!! Wages begin at $13.75/hr.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the ordering of produce items
- Greeting customers and being able to assist them with needs, questions, or requests.
- Properly receive orders in the loading dock verifying everything has arrived as listed and marking corrections if necessary.
- Making fresh squeezed orange juice using the equipment and properly sanitizing it daily.
- Being available and able to cross train in other departments and assist as business needs dictate.
- Stocking of produce following rotation standards when replenishing levels
- Ensure that pulled product is directed to be properly reduced or wasted and that the loss is accurately recorded on a shrink log.
- Maintain fully stocked and rotated displays.
- Maintain work and sales area in a clean, organized and safe manner throughout the entire shift.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks and assist with deep cleaning schedule.
- Empty trash as needed throughout shift.
- Ability to handle multiple demands and to take direction and follow a checklist.
- The ability to be reliable for regular scheduled shift.
- General mobility requirements include the ability to stand or walk for several hours at a time.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
