POSITION SUMMARY
The Welder Fabricator 2 will weld one or both Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding, Steel, Aluminum, or Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding. This position will review specifications, lay out metal components, cut, fabricate, and weld those pieces together to create tools and other parts. The Welder Fabricator 2 will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. This position will interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. The role will inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. This individual should be familiar with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment. This role may also prepare the materials and set up for a welding device or robot.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Metal inert gas (MIG) welding Steel, Aluminum and/or Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding on products.
- Must be able to meet daily productivity and output goals (production outputs are measured hourly/ daily).
- Set up devices and/or components for welding according to specifications, work orders and/or prints.
- Join and fabricate metal by applying appropriate welding techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics.
- Responsible for following the appropriate welding process.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical/ horizontal).
- Repair product and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Meet production output targets/goals.
- Meet zero quality defects on product.
- Effectively perform a wide range of complex duties within the scope of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, general education degree (GED), and/or completion certificate from a certified technical school required. Experience equivalent to education can be considered.
- Minimum 3 years of work-related experience as a Welder preferred.
- Fabrication experience utilizing fixtures and jigs preferred.
Required Licenses
- MIG or General Welder Certification preferred

- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use a tape measure and calculate fractions.
- Ability to visualize projects and put together timelines and processes to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
