Our practice is dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric dental care in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a key role in helping children develop healthy oral habits and positive relationships with dental care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures while ensuring each child feels safe, comfortable, and supported.
- Build rapport with patients and families to create a welcoming and positive dental experience.
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments according to infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Take dental radiographs while following all safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients receiving nitrous oxide sedation.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment information accurately.
- Provide oral hygiene education and post-treatment instructions to patients and parents.
- Help manage patient flow and maintain an efficient schedule.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Work collaboratively with team members to create a fun, child-friendly environment.
Qualifications
- Previous dental assisting experience required; pediatric dental experience preferred.
- Current certification in:
- Coronal Polishing
- Sealants
- Dental Radiography
- Nitrous Oxide Monitoring
- Comfortable working with children, including those who may be anxious or have special healthcare needs.
- Strong communication skills with both children and parents.
- Positive, patient, and team-oriented attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
