Sailtec International, a manufacturer of marine performance hydraulic systems has recently relocated to Kingsford, MI is seeking an experienced technician to be responsible for product assembly and testing.
Responsibilities
1. Follows assembly instructions to assemble hydraulic cylinders and pumps
2. Assesses condition and follows rebuild procedures for cylinder and pump overhauls
3. Follows test and inspection procedures to approve new and rebuilt items
4. Assists with development of assembly and test procedures
5. Keeps work area clean and organized on a daily basis
6. Receives and catalogs inventory and components into warehouse
7. Packages and ships orders according to company standards
Qualifications
1. 7+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, hydraulic equipment, machining, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field
2. Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to assemble and troubleshoot precision mechanical components
3. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and written work instructions
4. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
5. Ability to follow documented assembly, inspection, and test procedures accurately and consistently
6. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and determine appropriate corrective action
7. High attention to detail, particularly with component identification, cleanliness, fit, finish, and workmanship
8. Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for completed product quality
9. Basic computer skills for inventory transactions, work instructions, shipping, and company records
10. Ability to safely lift and handle components and finished assemblies up to 50 lbs.
11. Hydraulic cylinder, pump, marine, machining, or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
Pay: $29/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
