Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked items including cakes, pastries, bread, and specialty desserts with attention to detail and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques to create visually appealing products that meet customer specifications
- Package baked goods efficiently for retail display or catering orders, ensuring freshness and presentation standards are maintained
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling products in accordance with recipes
- Maintain a clean and organized work station following food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistency and perfection in every batch
- Support food handling procedures during production to uphold hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
Skills
- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or culinary environments with a focus on food production and preparation
- Strong cake decorating skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and shaping of baked goods
- Ability to operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and packaging machines
- Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Experience in catering or restaurant settings is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for the food industry is essential
- Familiarity with kitchen procedures related to baking, cooking, and food industry standards
