Job Title: Travel Surgical Technologist (CST Preferred)
Location: Helena, MT 59601
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks with Possible Extension
Shift: Day Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts
On-Call Requirement:
- Required
- 5–6 call shifts (12 hours each) every 6 weeks
Floating Requirement:
- Required within the facility based on departmental needs

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technologist to join a high-volume Operating Room in Helena, Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Surgical Tech with extensive orthopedic experience who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience and be proficient in supporting a wide range of elective and emergency surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with the appropriate surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile equipment.
- Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and provide instruments and supplies efficiently during surgery.
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and room setup.
- Perform instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization and future use.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, sterile technique, and safety standards.
- Document surgical procedures and assist with operating room turnover.
- Float to other surgical areas within the facility as needed.

- Elective and Emergency Surgical Procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience – Required.
- Previous travel assignment experience – Required.
- BLS Certification – Required.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Preferred.
- Epic EMR experience – Preferred.
- Strong experience with orthopedic and total joint procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.
Additional Requirements
- 200-mile radius rule applies (local candidates within 200 miles are not eligible).
- Must be willing to participate in the required call schedule.
- Must be flexible to float within the facility as needed.
