Duties
- Operate garment care machines such as industrial washers, dryers, and dry cleaning equipment to ensure optimal cleaning results.
- Handle textiles with care, performing sorting, folding, pressing, and packaging of laundry items while adhering to proper textile handling procedures.
- Manage laundry materials including detergents, fabric softeners, and stain removers safely and efficiently in accordance with safety standards.
- Use push carts and other equipment to transport heavy loads of linens or garments throughout the facility while practicing proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain sanitation standards by cleaning work areas regularly and following safety protocols during all laundry processes.
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies, monitoring detergent levels, and reporting maintenance needs for laundry machines.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely delivery of clean textiles and addressing any special laundry requests or concerns professionally.
Experience
- Prior experience in laundry services or textile cleaning is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with garment care machine operation, including industrial washers and dryers, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments related to materials handling and manual lifting is highly valued.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measuring detergents or calculating load capacities accurately.
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices, including the use of laundry detergents and dry cleaning chemicals, to ensure safe and effective cleaning processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on garment care, fabric preservation, and quality control.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
